• Completed a major strategic review of the mining services business.

• Completed the direction and implementation of a seven year plan to re-structure and grow the business.

• Directed a six month project to successfully secure $28 million in government funding for a significant crime fighting initiative.

• Completed the implementation of a multi-year project on behalf of the Department of Justice involving the reform to the regulation of the estate agent industry in Victoria.

• Developed a strategy and negotiated and recovered in excess of $14 million from, and developed and implemented multi-million dollar contracts with, major Australian financial institutions.

• Amended existing wide-scale state legislation (Estate Agents Act) and implemented new industry legislation (Conveyancers Act).

• Identified and implemented a range of critical business process re-engineering initiatives.

Ansett Airlines

• Two year project directing a task force during the Ansett Administration managing the entire human capital area of Ansett and its regional airline businesses (comprising 15,400 staff) including the strategic execution of the largest redundancy program in Australia’s corporate history (i.e. 11,400 redundancies costing in excess of $750 million).

• Determined head count requirements under a reduced service provision (Ansett Mark II).

• Negotiated and liaised with trade unions, government and media.

• Liaised with potential purchasers in relation to human resource matters/issues.

• Change-managed Ansett’s payroll system, controlled costs and work practices.

• Six month project requiring the reorganisation of the former Department for Victorian Communities (DVC) and the Planning, Heritage and Building and Housing Affordability divisions of the Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE).

• Established a department of over 1,000 staff with new strategy, governance arrangements, a best practice back office function and increased presence in Regional Victoria.

• Six month project involving the establishment of a Victorian Government human resources (HR) shared services centre for the former Department of Infrastructure (DOI).

• Reorganised the DVC HR and payroll service delivery from Accenture to DOI and from a second tier payroll software application to a fully integrated HR, payroll and finance platform.

• Project was highly visible and required project and change management of a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Resulted in improved financial management of staff costs, human capital planning and reporting and more efficient payroll processing.

• Three month secondment to the Department of Treasury & Finance providing advice on significant financial budgetary matters.

• Issues addressed included the introduction of International Financial Reporting Standards across the entire Victorian Public Sector, the restructure of the Victorian forestry industry, valuation of the Commonwealth Games athletes village construction project and valuation of the Port Phillip Bay channel asset.

• Twelve month project involving the restructure of the DSE's finance division.

• Reorganisation of 100 staff and change management of key business financial processes.

• Resulted in improved financial reporting, staff career development and planning.
